As of late, my younger brother has dedicated a great deal of time toward the xbox version of Minecraft. He frequently asks me to join him on a daily basis; however, I've found that I have no talent when it comes to analog controllers. I'm so accustomed to the computer's setup that I end up making a complete fool of myself, whether it's after mining up a silverfish egg by mistake-- let's just say that my combat skill is less than satisfactory-- or discovering an abandoned mineshaft and no sooner falling into a pool of lava in complete diamond armor. Despite my pathetic attempts at console gaming, the worst of all my reactions in regards to mobs would have to be upon encountering cave spiders. Typically, I end up flailing about with my sword while shouting various high-pitched squeals of surprise as my brother merely glances over at me in disbelief.
Long story short, I'm exceptionally horrible at xbox.
Granted, the xbox version has its positives-- I enjoy the retro feel it provides due to its lack of redstone-related blocks and abundant horse population. I'm just terrible at aiming with the oversensitive joystick. I can't lay a block without ultimately reverting to re-mining it, replacing it, then realizing it's still in the wrong spot. It could be the fact that I'm a female and I don't have experience with first-person games (when I play Skyrim, I HAVE to be in 3rd person-- I devoted nearly an hour creating my nord's gorgeous face and rippling muscles, so I'll be derned if I don't get the pleasure of staring at his studly back), but I'll chalk one up to sheer ignorance and absence of patience when it comes to familiarizing myself with something out of my comfort zone.
What do you think? Are you fans of the xbox, or diehard PC gamers?
