When I'm looking for a server to play on I take my time and comb through servers and narrow it down to a certain few servers to apply to. It ticks me off when a server has a name like Factions and Shit [1.7.2] Free DIAMONDS!....

Why in your right mind would you even look into that server, the Owner/Advertiser is immature, they don't care about the economy of the server and if they don't care how its run, why would they care about your problems. I think its bull crap when they get more players than the servers that deserve it like the mature people who want to give people a server to look forward to and a kind community.

I own a small Whitelisted server, It's listed as mature, applications, community oriented, and server is maintained as much as possible. Its called CraftBox.

That brings up another thing:

Boobs!

DiamondCraft
PvpServer

These are all server names that are overused, some inappropriate, and cheesy. Why would you wanna do that to your server? It stands out 0% My server originated as the Shield Guild, then we discussed a server name as a community and it stuck. We didn't go and talk about Dicks or Boobs or PVP or Creative or the classic Diamond.. We talked about being original, we wanted to stick out.

Also Server banners...

when i see a overly flashy, Sparkly, Diamond Filled, Sword Decorated, Bright Name, Plain Background, or Over Prepared Banner I keep scrolling.

I don't wanna stare at the sun while i try to read info about your server and who you are... I wanna read and not be blinded by font colors..
