So tanks. Yes I like them. Why do build them? I think its fun, obviously, or else i wouldn't build it. Serving in war is a tradition thats run in the bloodline of my family. I have family members from the Navy, Marines, Army, Air Force, and U.S. Navy SEALs. My great grandfather was a highly skilled sniper serving in WW2. His rifle, he used to tell my mother that his rifle was like no other, a Springfield M1903 with a scope capable of killing an Axis soldier from 1,000 yards away. It was painted desert tan with a beige torn rag around the scope, built to match the environment of South Africa.

So about tanks again. I like tanks. I personally think they are really cool. So i build them and put them on a battlefield like the one in my War Thunder world. This is kinda the process that takes place for me to build it.

So first. I find a tank i want to build such as this one. Its an M3 Grant. Used by the Australians and made by the U.S.
undefined
So, this tank. I got 4 pictures of a model so i can see front, sides, and back.

So i start with the treads and placement, lets build 6.
undefined
It's a good placement but i might change my mind later.

So now that i got that. I'm going to add the lower body for a base.
undefined
And there we go. Now i have a base to start with and build off of.

Now i need to build upwards and work on the upper body.
undefined
Getting better, but i still need the gun on the left side and the head gun on top.

Lets get those guns on the tank really quick.
undefined
Now i got the guns on and covered up all the gaps with some carpet and a trapdoor  entrance.

Now i just add the detail.
undefined
So now i got some seats for the driver and side gunner as well as some light so i can see and a ladder for the commander.

Now i need to add the engine. %99 of tanks i build will have an engine and i will go out of my way to add one even though they are most of the time hidden and dont actually work. I build my tanks for quality and detail.
undefined
So theres the engine. I belive all the tanks in this world (War Thunder) have a engine somewhere in them. I will never, ever, ever put several wool blocks down with a dispencer and say "boom, tank". Even the small tanks take up to 10-15 minutes.

So now i have to cover up the engine. This tank is about 7x5 give or take so the space is crammed like a real tank.
undefined
So now it's covered up by a supply chest.

Now i have to do the outside detail.
undefined
So here you can see I added ladders as a Wooden "plate" and a pressure plate as "iron armor plating" and some buttons as bolts or optic finders or whatever you want them to look like.

Now i have to add a few more details.
undefinedSo here we can see that I added some small exhaust pipes and some more buttons. On the far left, you can see i added the Wheel that the tank in my inspiration picture had on the back left.

So from here you can either be done, or be all weird like me and add a label and the flag from its nation(s).
undefined
So theres the M3 Grant if you want it to be finished there. or...

You can add flags and labels. M3 Grant is an Australian/U.S. tank so...
undefined
So here's the American flag M3 Grant.

And here's the Australian flag M3 Grant. (the banners are limited to what that can have one so the flag looks weird).
