One may ask just why we should remember the past, it’s something that happened that we no longer have to worry about anymore because it’s over. While yes, one could make that argument, clearly there’s a lot more than meets the eye. Learning about the past is something important, very important, it’s human nature to want to archive every single thing, it’s been like this forever and will most likely never change.

One of the major goals that humans have strived to achieve since the very beginning is to beat death in any form possible and eventually find a way to escape it. Having things done in the past no matter how good or bad they were remembered and given to the youth to study and remember is a way of this, a way to somewhat cheat death by having the memory live on while the bodies stay in the past and rot, it’s why people strive to be famous, to be able to in a way beat death with their name becoming forever remembered.

Of course, there is no true way to actually beat death, and it probably will never happen, eternal life will never be true as everything in this world is finite, even time itself. Everyone and everything has an end to it, one day our whole universe will be gone and there will be no one left to remember anything. In a way everything we do in the long run has no actual importance, the lives lost in the grand scheme of things don’t truly matter, nothing ever has and nothing ever will.

So, why do we as humans even bother to do anything anymore? Why do we continue to strive for fame and one day eternal life? Because it’s human nature to try and beat death, whether it be for good or bad, death is truly the one hurdle all humans wish to cross.

So we make things important to us, we give everything a value even if it doesn’t have any. We try to make things the best we can for ourselves, a human desire born from the grief of death. We make things important to us, and that’s perfectly fine, it’s only a mere part of humans after all with such complicated brains compared to most species.

But let's put all this dark and gloomy talk aside! After all, that’s clearly not what most people want to hear about! We want to worry about our lives and possibly the lives of the next generations to come! So in that case, why would we even care about learning the past?

Well there’s a lot more when putting it in this context! Many mistakes are in the past, ones that caused some of the worse events to take place! Many pointless wars that started and oh so many poor lives lost! Quite the tragedies really.

Now, a lot of people may argue that all tragedies should be forgotten one day to relieve the stresses that it carries, and I can totally get behind that! After all, carrying such heavy burdens and passing them down from generation to generation can cause quite the few wounds, mentally of course.

But remembering the past should be able to help save the future and to prevent repeats of such horrible tragedies, so it is rather important that such horrific events are documented and remembered by people.

However as with everything this idea is still flawed, as it could in theory convince people to try and repeat such villainous actions figures in the past have done. Not everyone has the same mental health and some can easily be influenced by these things, or of course harm them via nightmares and awful thoughts to distract them and make their everyday life a whole lot harder.

So perhaps I could propose an idea for the education system? Just maybe allowing those with bad mental health or disabilities to not participate in bits of history? After all, not every single soul needs to learn every single thing. Would it not make sense to prevent those who can’t handle such thoughts of bloodshed, nukes and wars from having to hear such gruesome stories?

History is a subject that albeit interesting at times, is not exactly something that everyone should be forced to listen to and learn about. It can be painful to hear such things that some shouldn’t have to worry about in the current day and age. But at the same time, for those who can and desire to hear and learn about such things from the generations before them, then they should take in all the information they can and learn all the important information that is there.

Details are everything and to not mention one is a sin. A small little detail is all it can take to completely flip everything up on its head and change the viewpoint of it all. To those who seek the truth it’s baffling to not give every little detail and to receive information that could be considered unrelated and irrelevant to the current point of focus.

This is a huge reason why education is flawed. Since it’s decided by the government things can easily be purposefully left out to be forgotten, to ignore details that would otherwise be seen as negative for them.

But I will leave you with a few questions, after all, there is truly no correct answer nor opinion. Do you think the education system is flawed? What is your opinion on the matter, do you believe that everything should be documented and remembered? Should those who cannot handle hearing tragedies be forced to learn about it? Think about these and come up with your own thoughts and opinions.

History should be documented, and public information. all of it, but it should not be a forced subject. the only reason for history to be learned should be to know how horrible this world can be, and is. nobody should be able to control what we think about how/where we live no matter what. it's our life, now stop watching this message, secret spies.
