Hey guys, today I am here with a rant/story/article about why I think people are becoming way too serious over Minecraft. Sorry if this is long, but i just have to get this out there. So I have a friend who builds on a creative plot server. He was given the schematic of his plot from the server owners, and so to show his build to the community, he posted it on PMC. The server kicked him off because he put "their" work onto his PMC. Now, I am not here to argue whose build it was, that's for the owners and players to settle. However, when my friend tried to explain why he put the build on his PMC (which by the way gave credit to the server), the server owners responded by saying that if they wanted to, they could SUE my friend for copyright. Another exmaple, I logged onto a server in order to try out for a build team and the owner told me I would have to commit to at least 10 hours of building per week to be on his team. Ten hours a week, during school times. Just think about that.
Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who thinks that Minecraft is just a game, that we play to have fun and enjoy some time off. Why are people so damn serious about this game that they treat it like work or something important or even REALITY ITSELF. I understand that people are passionate and care about the things they do, but in the realm of gaming, many people just get way too into it. I strongly believe that we, as a community, must remind ourselves that Minecraft and any game in general is just that, a game. Now, I understand that me writing a blog about this may also be taking things too seriously, but to me, this is just a way of getting my perspective out there.
The true purpose of community gaming in general is for people to collaborate and especially in Minecraft, build creativity and teamwork. We shouldn't be trying to make Minecraft a business and compete with others or try to claim ownership and take real actions in order to "win" for lack of better wording.
So, to wrap this up, play Minecraft or any game to enjoy yourself and relax, do not get too serious and make it more than what it really is, just a game.

However, I know that I'll build something new--and probably better. It's a virtual world, ergo endless opportunities to redo stuff when I get the time.
Says you =3
Making money through Minecraft is a great, fun way to produce income while you're young. For example, I made a considerable sum of money for contributing to our assigned builds in a build team. We weren't paid by the hour, but usually the payment for each project divided into the amount of hours was well over minimum wage. If you're good at something, no matter how 'relaxed' or 'casual' of an activity it was meant to be, you can still make real profit from it. This isn't the days of old gaming. You can literally sit at your computer all day, and make money playing video games. Of course usually this isn't practical, or possible in most cases, but the option to make money without going anywhere is present.
If you don't like how someone utilizes a game, you can find others who share your view of it. There are plenty of people who don't play the game with a business aspect in mind, so really there isn't a need to take others to your level (whether you believe that is up or down), when there are others already there.
So the point is, some people prefer to have a long-term mindset. These people such as myself look for an opportunity to get a jump on the gun in all areas of life.
However, the blog was written well, so I gave it a diamond. Keep writing!
