Yogventures Cancelled
The game Yogventures, off of the popular Youtube channel Yogscast, was recently cancelled. This is due to WinterKewl, the company designing the game, falling apart. There is alot of information on this topic, and I intend to tell you all of it!
The Kickstarter for Yogventures started back in April of 2012. Blasting through the goal of 250 thousand dollars donations topped off at $567,665. With 13,647 backers ready to get all kinds of merchandise. But they were let down, quite greatly.
But lets get away from the stuff and start talking about the fall of WinterKewl."Right off the bat we had one major incident" said lead developer Kris Vale."Our good friend... left PDI to work at LucasArts. LucasArts wouldn't give him a carve out in his contract to work on Yogventures". WinterKewl lost $35,000 from that. When Lewis found out about that incident they transferred $150,000 over to the Yogscast. This money would be used to create and ship physical rewards. They also decided that the Yogscast would help hire the main programmer.
But due to lack of funds they were still unable to hire a main programmer, and Vale had to continue to work nonstop for the 18 months after that. It's also been said that he got divorced due to him being to busy. But eventually WinterKewl ran out of money and was unable to continue the game.
Here is where the real questions come into play. What happened to that $150,000 that was dedicated to shipping out physical rewards? And will the pledgers be refunded?
In an email sent out by Lewis of the Yogscast to all of the pledgers he talked about how he was going to give everyone the stuff they deserved. He also talked about how they are now teaming up with Nerd Kingdom on their game called TUG. He also stated that all physical rewards had been sent out and delivered. That mean that the $150,000 had been used properly. He said they were not obligated to refund anyone, when legally they are.
But even after the Yogscast trying to give the pledgers as much as they can, many are unhappy.

If I am unable to complete my project as promised, what should I do?
If you realize that you will be unable to follow through on your project before funding has ended, you are expected to cancel it. If your project is successfully funded, you are required to fulfill all rewards or refund any backer whose reward you do not or cannot fulfill.
But lets just be glad they got it taken care of and are giving out an even better game!
the yogscast said if you have not recieved your re-fund,contact them and they will refund you
