All cannons should be functional in 1.12-1.17+ but were designed in 1.16.5.
I usually design these airships and airskiffs for use with the Movecraft server plugin which allows players to build and fly block based ships, planes, airships, tanks, and more. You can also battle with them if you choose to give them armament but you can also use them to fly around your Minecraft world in style or lift cargo long distances in bulk.
All of the cannons on the ships, aside from a few potential ones in the future, work in Vanilla Minecraft and require no mods, plugins, and/or add-ons in order for them to function. I primarily design them with adjustable trajectory/arc which allows you to control the angle of the shot as well as the range but I also upload some which allow you to adjust the propellant load of the cannon.
