Tired of the new pvp mechanics and want to use something that's both survival friendly and useful for custom maps? Well, you might want to try out 1.8 PvP for 1.17+
The point of datapack is very simple: mimic 1.8 pvp mechanics in newer versions!
To enable it, just put the downloaded zip file into a world's datapack folder and you're ready to go.

To enable it, just put the downloaded zip file into a world's datapack folder and you're ready to go.
Features:
- When a player holds a sword, it gets a high attack speed to remove the hit delay
- When a player holds an axe, it gets a lower attack damage which essentially nerfes axes
- Players holding a sword will get a shield to mimic 1.8 blocking mechanics, but it only works when there are no items in the player's offhand slot, so you can still hold i.e. torches and a sword at the same time
- The shield recipe is "disabled" to not let players craft their own shields (don't get excited, you can't dupe the custom shields you get)
