How to install:
1. Open "datapack" folder inside a world folder (Java edition)
2. Unzip this file there
3. Make sure there isn't "blocks_disappear" folder inside unzipped folder
This datapack removes blocks which have the same X and Z coordinates with you (blocks above and below you)
Type "/function disappear:settings" for settings (default time interval is 1 minute)

For clarification, I used the 1.18+ version!
1. Whenever blocks disappear it lags minecraft entirely. Maybe that's just my specs being too low or something!
2. This datapack doesn't work in the nether or the end, so effectively it only works in the overworld.
3. If you're stood on the end portal frame and the blocks below you disappear, the frame disappears too (not sure if intentional, thought I'd mention). It's the same with bedrock (any dimension)
4. Using structure void blocks isn't the best idea, they do get in the way, eg, when building a nether portal, placing blocks is a nightmare with them around, depends how you're coding it buuuut you could just use the 'air block' instead of an actual block in game which would make it more pleasant to play!
Again, no hate, loved playing your datapack and when i do get around to making it a video one of these days will be sure to mention you!
For 3rd issue, since if the end portal frames are destroyed, portal blocks are automatically destroyed by the game, and breaking bedrock is intentional
For the 2nd issue, it is because the end and the nether's Y axis limit (0-255) is different from that in the overworld (-64-319), I'm trying to fix it right now
For 1st and 4th issue, as far as I see, it does lag the game so I'll be trying to make them air blocks to reduce the lag
By the way, 1.13 to 1.17 and 1.18+ are basically same, the only different part is the co-ordinates to clear blocks
