I thought of making it for carpets and other things at first, but with the 1:8 ratio currently applied for carpets, I don't think it makes alot of sense to make recipes like that.
I mean, who would dye 1 carpet with 1 dye when you can dye 8 carpets with that same dye?
(Besides, you can dye like that by following the recipe, just have the other 7 carpets to have the same color as the dye. No idea what you would use that for, but there you go)
You should make a backup when you attempt to use my datapacks in versions outside of its designed version though, just in case.
