THIS PACK IS NOW COMPATIBLE WITH EXISTING WORLDS AND MODDED PETS (some setup required for the latter)
This datapack allows pets to respawn at their spawn point if they die. It makes it safe to go adventuring with them and ensures that you can take your companions around without worrying about losing them forever. To set an animals spawn, make it sit on a bed or charged respawn anchor. If it dies, it will respawn there, or at (0,0) if then bed or respawn anchor is broken. Pets returning don't remove charges from respawn anchors, so you don't have to worry about that.
By default, this pack includes wolves, cats, and parrots. To add your chosen modded pet to the mix, simply put "tag @e[type=<your mod>:<creatures id>] add rsp_respawnable" into a repeating command block that does not require redstone power.
Due to a bug in 1.16.3, taking your pets through portals will cause them to lose their spawnpoint.
On a personal note, I would like to thank all of my subscribers for sticking with me. I have been dealing with a lot mentally and academically, but it's clearing up I think I have worked out ways to make packs efficiently. Thank you all for the support you have given. My packs may not be as popular anymore but all of you are keeping my motivated to work. From the bottom of my heart, let me say that your support means everything. I will try and make more in the upcoming weeks and months, especially as 1.17 rolls out.

I'm getting a weir thingy...
when sleeping, tammed pets get duplicated.
Is there a way to configure this?
Thanks
On opening the zip, there is a "Respawning Pets" folder. Under this are the correct folders & files. Please could you reupload the datapack without the "Respawning Pets" folder, so that the top-level folder is "data" and the top-level files are pack.mcdata and pack.png?
While this is something I can easily do myself, a lot of gamers may not understand how to do this and will think the datapack doesn't work.
Many thanks ❤
Additionally, I located one minor bug and have one request:
Bug
- My cat respawned level inside a bed and I was unable to interact with the cat.
- On removing the bed, the cat seemingly exploded into XP and hasn't respawned at 0,0 yet that I can see.
Request
- Change the respawn option of 0,0 to the seed's spawn point instead.
Kind regards
