    How to install Minecraft Data Packs

    Mojang won't give glass a tool, so naturally I used the new datapack features to do it myself.
    The pack works for all glass types, that includes panes, stained glass, and tinted glass.
    To use it just add it to the world, enable it, and presto you have the ability to mine glass more quickly with a pickaxe. (If someone didn't beat me to this idea I'll be surprised.)

    added Glowstone, Sea Lanterns, and Redstone lamps.

    fixed critical bug that caused the pick to become ineffective on everything except glass... oops...

    I messed up 1 single line of code and that caused the pickaxe to no longer be effective on anything except glass... Oops...

    I don't understand how I mined glass before but this data pack makes it way more satisfying. Hopefully, this will eventually be the standard for glass but for now, this is a must-have. Good job!

    Yep. Mojang is such a jerk. They are too lazy to give any blocks(glass, stained glass, tinted glass, glowstone, sea lantern, redstone lamp, Player Head etc.) a tool. Only Player or Steve Head is because I like Player Heads better than mob heads.

    ... What kind of lazy jerk gives 10 years worth of free updates and counting? The only reason why these items don't have a tool is because most of them require silk touch to mine without destroying them, it is a safe guard against accidentally destroying your glass.



    My pack title is a joke btw, but when you have a silk touch pick it is a pain to remove large amounts of glass. What you need to consider though is my pack is optional, if you accidentally destroy some glass on a brief click you already knew the risk. In the base game however accidentally destroying something with a single swing would not exactly be the best of game design.

    Also technically the only reason why I could do this in the first place is because of a backend modification to the game code that Mojang implemented to make the game more customizable for datapack creators in 1.17. We didn't need that change, this datapack only exists because they went through the effort of adding these new features.

    Lmao you are calling Mojang a jerk? I think you should remember that the whole reason PMC and your profile even exists is because of Minecraft. also, Mojang is NOT lazy what so ever. Have you seen the amount of work they have been doing for the caves and cliffs update? I bet you can't even do 0.1% of that work. Go get a life you low life level scum.

    Yeah. I hate his mistakes. Like needs silk touch on glass, makes creepers stronger in 1.6.4, silverfishes no longer suffocate in soul sands, thinks Bedrock is better than Java, skeletons strafing, nerfs and removes the recipe of enchanted golden apple, breaks the 0 tick farms and nerfs the elytra in 1.18 and not adding human shaped mobs. Zombies are close enough but their arms are stright to the front, piglins are close enough but their have wide head(10x8 instead of 8x8), skeletons are close enough but they have 2x2 arms and legs.

    Kristoffer Zetterstrand only has one mistake. Which is his paintings on Minecraft's default paintings are horrible, boring and not fun.

    But custom paintings are better. And I am NOT a scum. I am a friendly girl who also play Minecraft!
