Flintland is a survival challenge datapack where you are trapped in a world consisting entirely of bedrock,
Its up to the player to repopulate the barren world with life!

There are custom advancements to aid with progression and the many custom mechanics.

~Crushing;
Dropping a Falling Block 3 or more blocks can crush the block beneath it.
Sometimes items will be knocked loose.

(Example; Crushing Cobblestone will convert it into Gravel)

Magma Block > Netherrack + Lava beneath
Netherrack > Soul Sand

~Composters;
Now crafted with 4 sticks, Composters will now prevent one stack of items from despawning while inside.
But be careful! Foods will spoil, converting into rotten flesh or mushrooms depending on what item is being fermented.
All Composting recipes
Spider Eye > Fermented Spider Eye
All Meats > Rotten Flesh
All Crops > Brown/Red Mushroom
All Crop Blocks > Brown/Red Mushroom Block
Rotten Flesh > Zombie

~Smelting;
Items on blocks that are being heated can be smelted (Not all smelting recipes are able to be done this way)
This process can result in the block that the item was cooked on being converted into another type.
Some recipes need a special flame or temperature, like Soul Fire or Lava.
When smelting with lava, Fire-based mobs will occasionally spawn.

(Example; Cooking a an item on a clay block will convert the clay into terracotta)

Gold Block (In the Nether) > Netherite Scrap

There are a few more complicated ways of obtaining materials, here are some basic instructions and recipes;

Custom Item processing instructions

Sifting, Boiling, and Chilling

To Sift an item, throw it into water with scaffolding under it.
To Boil an item, throw it into water with a magma under it.
(These work with waterlogged blocks, a bubble column is not needed)
To Chill an item, throw it into Powder Snow.
The first item in a column is the resource that need to be processed, and the second are the items that can be dropped.

(Example; Dropping a Stone into Powder Snow will convert it into Deepslate or Tuff)

Custom Dripping instructions

Dripping

To drip items, throw the required item into a typical Dripstone setup.
The first row shows the item you need to throw into the Water/Lava for Dripping,
The second and third row are the block formation needed,
The fourth row is the item/block produced, and the fifth row is the block it will replace.

(Example; Dropping Tuff in Water on Dripstone with an Amethyst Cluster hanging beneath will result in iron ore if it is dripped onto stone)

Flintland Minecraft Data Pack

As of now there are no end goals other than finishing progression, but I plan on fully fleshing out progression and giving the player an end goal after I give myself time to work on other projects. Feedback is appreciated! While this is meant to be a challenging datapack, certain aspects could be changed if proven to be too frustrating.

Hope you enjoy! <3
Updated to fix various balance issues and bugs:
The player is now given every custom recipe for the recipe book.
Fixed the issue of no longer being able to obtain Amethyst Clusters
Bugs now spawn with low health, Spiders with 4 Hearts, Cave Spiders with 3, and Silverfish with 2.
Adjusted loot tables to make Bugs drop string more often.
Made caves more common in the Overworld.
Lowered the chance of Sandstone being crushed into sand.

I really like some of the mechanics, like the whole dripping thing or the chilling. Could you make those into mini packs for those who may not want to live in a bedrock world?

Sure! I might need to change some things to adjust to the available resources though.
