What is Grindcutter?
Newly-placed stonecutters will "mine" the block above them. This unlocks new Redstone farming possibilities like an explosion-free cobblestone machine, wood-mining machine, basalt machine, and more!

Things to keep in mind:

Stonecutters mine blocks!

They can break almost everything except for bedrock, obsidian, or netherite

Breaking blocks takes a few seconds.

New updates have improved the Redstone potential a lot:

  Works with pistons!

  You can now place Grindcutters next to each other!

What if it doesn't work?

Make sure you unzipped the file.
If you're on 1.17 it will say "made for an older version of Minecraft", but you can just ignore that.
Stonecutters placed before the datapack was added will not work.

You should see a bang when you place a stonecutter to show that it was placed correctly.
If you don't hear this noise, adjust your camera angle and try placing it again.

Pistons are very complicated! I did thorough testing but may have missed something. Please report any duplication/piston glitches if you find them.

What's special about Version 3?
To add Silk Touch for 20 seconds, drop a feather on the ground near the stonecutter.
