The More Foods Datapack uses the new Components added to Minecraft 1.20.5 to add new foods to the game! Currently, there are over 30 new food options, as well as some Advancements to look for.
This pack is currently in Beta, and I would greatly appreciate any playtesters who want to try it out! Give me any feedback you may have, I'll be updating it soon.
Over 40 new foods items you can either find or craft, including:
Honeyed Apples,
Cheesecake,
Tacos,
Burritos,
Ice Cream,
Apple Juices,
Hot Cocoa,
...and many more!
There should be 2 download links on the right. One for the Datapack, and the Resourcepack. Please install both of them!
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: this pack ONLY works for 1.20.5-pre2 and up. Once 1.20.5 comes out, hopefully Planet Minecraft will have that as a selectable version.
When this pack is updated, there will be a changelog at the bottom of this page. Please check it to make sure you're running the most recent version!
If this pack is updated and you have an older version, you can simply overwrite both the Resource and Datapack with the newer versions (delete any old versions you have).
Any items crafted or gained from the previous version will be retained, but their recipes may be different when crafting them again.
If any items are removed in an update, the data and textures for them will remain for one update. The following update after that, they may look broken or may not work properly!
Currently, this pack is not compatible with other food related Datapacks, but the Appleskin mod should work when it's updated to 1.20.5 based on how this one works. If you have a food Datapack you want to combine with mine (or even ideas for foods to add!) please let me know.

This version has been updated for 1.20.5-pre4 (and Release Candidate 1), but also includes the following changes:

- Added a new advancement category for the Datapack
- Added the following advancements:
- "Edible Gold" for crafting Cheese
- "Desperate Times" for eating Zombie Jerky
- Added a new recipe for Melon Seeds, so players don't need to cut a Melon in a Stonecutter first just to get seeds from the slices
- Edited the Melon recipe to only require 4 Melon Slices instead of 9, so players making Melon Slices from them wouldn't be losing 5 slices per recipe
- Added a new "Stuffed Potato" food and recipe
- Updated the "root", "Extra Dietary Options", and "The Gourmand" advancements to include the new recipe added
- Added a root advancement meant for storing recipe advancements (unachievable in normal gameplay)
- Moved the recipe advancements to morefoods:recipes/root (from minecraft:recipes/root)
- Moved "The Gourmand" advancement to be under the "root" to make the advancement tree neater
- Renamed the following advancement filepaths:
- "ate_monster_mash" --> "extreme_dieting"
- "ate_sniffer_egg" --> "caveman_breakfast"
- "ate_dragon_egg" --> "dragon_breakfast" - Fixed a bug where Zombie Jerky didn't give the Hunger effect properly
- Fixed a bug where, apparently, I shipped this version WITHOUT a data folder! So the whole pack didn't exist! Whoopsies! :333
