If you hold a shield when being held by a enderman, it breaks! this makes it so you cant just keep blocking to avoid death.
Ways of escaping
If your being held by a enderman, you don't have to die! you can escape its hold with many methods such as, a ender pearl or chorus fruit to teleport away, a bow and shooting it, and placing water, or just killing it.
