Directly inspired by this r/MinecraftSuggestions post.

This datapack adds a new "gamemode" to your Minecraft world.

Once installed, everyone's spawnpoint is now forever set to a Cursed Respawn Anchor block in the Nether.

One must break the block using a Diamond or Netherite pickaxe in order to break the curse.

The Cursed Respawn Anchor never runs out of charges and sleeping in a bed or setting your spawn another way does not work, until the Cursed Respawn Anchor is broken.

The goal of the pack is to traverse the Nether and finally venture into the Overworld, find diamonds to craft a Diamond Pickaxe, and traveling back to break the block and lift the curse.

As soon as the block is broken, everyone's spawnpoint is reset to the overworld.

Huge fan and would like to use your pack in a world I am running with a couple friends! Only thing I would consider changing is allowing normal Respawn Anchors to work still. Allowing players to make a nether base and put the Respawn Anchor in it so they respawn at base instead of always respawning at the Cursed one. Still having players required to break the Cursed Anchor to have spawn get set in overworld. Other then that really like what you have done. I think your Nether start datapack is one of the most stable ones I have played with.

Thanks! I'm not sure how I'd get individual normal Respawn Anchors working, since the cursed one applies globally to all players, and once it's broken, all players on the server are no longer forced to spawn in the Nether. Maybe if the cursed one cannot ever be broken so players are forced to live in the Nether permanently? not exactly sure what you mean by getting respawn anchors to work. thanks for the kind words!

Sorry if I did not explain it well enough. My thought was that due to the nature of the Cursed respawn Anchor. Players are pretty much going to build a base around the Cursed Respawn Anchor until they break it. Depending on the size of the multiplayer group could be a lot of players in one spot. My thought is while the players are stuck in the Nether due to the Cursed Respawn Anchor it would be cool if they could use the Normal Respawn Anchor to set there spawn somewhere else in the nether like a nether bed. Of course they would need to keep charging the Normal Anchor so they wouldn't be sent back to the Cursed one. If they ran out of charges they would be sent back to the Cursed Anchor. It almost give a better purpose to the Normal Anchors in the early Nether Survival game. Pretty much the curse would be that beds in the overworld don't work until the curse is lifted. I still think the Cursed Anchor could be broken and lift the curse. Sorry if this suggestion goes beyond your intentions just thought I would share :)

Hm actually a great idea. I'll try to see if I can accomplish this. Could lead to some bugs but I'll try to figure them out. I'll update the pack when/if the feature is done!

That's true, though it's not too difficult to remove diamonds from the nether fortress chest loot tables, which would make entering the overworld to get them mandatory

Yes but I dont mind if you're able to break the curse without travelling to the overworld. It is rare to get diamonds from Nether Forts. You're more likely to be able to build a portal prior to getting 3 diamonds.
