Ideas for my big project?
So I've been working on this really big project. It was initially intended to be a little kid's dream world. So far I have a huge tree house with giant plants and huge butterflies surrounding it, as well as a small village and a playground and stuff. I'm okay with letting go of that initial intention, but if I can I'd like to keep building on to that dream.
I've been thinking that maybe I can portray those dark places in a child's mind where the monsters hide under the bed with maybe a deep pond that looks beautiful on top, but is filled with monsters swirling around it. Does that sound like a good idea?
I'd also like to keep the good vibes going when you're above ground and the build altogether needs more detail. If you have any ideas, please let me know!

1. Make a closet where the monsters hide.

I might not do the closet, or actually, now that I think about it, that could be really cool, but the circuis would be really great!
Perhaps make it so all the fun/friendly things are on surface level, and if possible make an underground perhaps cave like area that represents the realm of fears and nightmares. Like a big huge open cave area with minimal lighting and creepy things crawling all over.

Depending on how much space you have, perhaps you could make the edge of a dark, twisted forest, looking like it's creeping in at one end of the plot? It ought to give a more darker feel, since you could imagine in a child's mind, bad thoughts creep in from the dark corners. You could use inspiration from red ridinghood, and build a tiny lit path going deeper into the forest, as the trees get more dense, and light levels decrease.
