Hello!

I was looking for a few ways to make an automatic tunnel digging system so I can make underground rail lines across my world without having to mine the tunnels myself. I challenge everyone to make an efficient and as close to automatic as possible mining machine that can dig out a tunnel by itself! It will need to move, so keep that in mind while designing

2 Command block hooked up to a clock
1 will clone a section of tnt and redstone that hasnt been updated and the 2nd command block will simply update the tnt.

You could try three commands hooked up to a fill clock. They could execute relative to a minecart to set its block to a powered rail, place a redstone torch every so often to power them and fill a cuboidal area around the minecart to air. Alternatively, you could use a powered minecart and standard rails, give it a nudge and see what happens.

Finally, a up-to-date answer!

But if you want one that can be controlled, I suggest:
- replace minecart with an entity (NoAI true...)
- use /tp to move it
- execute fill air

I'm out of time here, so I'l just stop. A advanced tutorial by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6YlsBtgwXY

The only way I think this would work is if you had a large amount of command blocks that both deleted the blocks you wish to remove, but it would be quicker to break it then programming that in, and then programming even MORE command blocks to place a rail at the coords in the middle.

Can this be done with Vanilla MC? Or are you talking about modded MC?

As far as i know there's nothing that can break blocks in Vanilla but I've only recently started to play vanilla again so i could be wrong!

Unless you can do some cool stuff with the command blocks?
