I've made a texture pack before back in 1.4.7 and I liked doing it so I decided to do it again. But I look at the .minecraft file to see alot has changed. No more "bin" folder but even without that I think I found the .minecraftjar? Anyway my question is where can I get the normal textures from my %appdata% ? thank you hopeless plea for downloads I made the "SuperDuperKandyKraft" texture pack lol

I don't believe so. It won't read if you put them all in one file, unless someone else knows of something.

Go to the version folder, open the .jar file with WinRAR or 7-zip then copy the assets folder and pack.png into a new folder, then create a new McMeta document and call it pack, then paste this in:

{
"pack": {
"pack_format": 1,
"description": "Insert Description Here"
}
}

And that's all you have to do, pretty simple really.
