Totem TexturePacks
So I want to make a pack that when you hold a totem in your hand it looks like a normal totem but when you use it it looks like something else, The problem with that is that Minecraft uses the same totem texture when using it, and when holding it. So I was wondering if I can do that without changing the game code like if I can do that using the totem_of_undying.mcmeta or something like that.
also, I was wondering if I could change the position and the size of the totem when being used because it really annoys me covering 70% of the screen. (I use GUI-Scale 3)
Notice: I use the custom-totem pack to put my skin in the totem.
Thanks!

I think this can be achieved by using a datapack to put a CustomModelData tag on every totem in existence; that way, the resurrection animation would use your provided vanilla totem texture, but the totem would display using a different texture. This is likely not a very optimal solution, but it should work as far as I know.
