I am currently authoring a fantasy/medieval book. If you want your name / a name in it please tell me. (No numbers or underscores, must be only letters and no stupid things.) Also if you have any ideas I would think about including them. Right now ETA is 8 months but with support I could do it in half the time! Also I need PEOPLE right now and not animals.

IMPORTANT: YOU MAY OR MAY NOT DIE.

Okay this doesn't quite have enough deets. So here is the most important one: It is the story of Winters_Bane. You didn't think that name was randomly chosen, right? Noah will become Winter's Bane later on in the story. Everybody else more or less gets left out of it EXCEPT for: The Scribe, Levi, Bryon, and last but soooooo not least, Gary the Axolotl Knight! (Gary is the second main character now. AxolotlArmy what have you done?) :)

The King’s Story

Chapter One

The Origin

“I am writing a book and I want your help.” That is how it all began. The Scribe had found the dark form that he sought after.

“My help?” The form asked. “Why would you want me, just another old sad soldier?”

“Because you have seen many magnificent events, Levi. You have fought battles. You know things.”

There was a long pause in the conversation while Levi thought about helping The Scribe. The clouds cleared up and the castle plaza was bathed in moonlight. The wind blew through tall spruce trees, making odd noises in the high branches. In the light, the faces of the two men could be clearly seen.

The Scribe was a little less than halfway through his life, in his late thirties. He had curly hair, almost golden, his arms had many scars that showed he had been fighting at least a few battles. He was tall with fair skin and brown eyes. His nails were kept short and clean. He reminded Levi of someone, but he could not place who. Levi looked like he could fistfight a grizzly bear. He was in his early fifties but that did not slow him down one bit. He had a fire in his eyes, and he was ready to burn down anything or anyone that got in his way. He was calm though, at least for the moment. He had olive skin, and his eyes were just a little darker than The Scribe’s.

The conversation resumed presently.

“Fine.” Levi said. “But on one condition.”

“Name it.” The Scribe replied.

“I will write the first chapter.” Was Levi’s demand.

“You got a deal.”

The two men shook on it and agreed to meet back in the morning.

* * *

The sun slowly rose high above the kingdom of Rakar. The shouts of merchants could be heard throughout the streets. The cries of children and the slashing sound of steel on steel from the training grounds added to the din. Outside of the city was the forest and past that the mountains. Over the mountains, who knows? Opposite of the mountains, there was an ocean that no one had ever crossed. Rakar was beautiful. The castle was found on the highest hill, taller than the trees but not even comparable to the mountains.

In one of the many castle towers, Levi and The Scribe met, discussing the book.

“I think we should write about The Troll Wars.” Levi said.

“We will but how should we begin?” The Scribe asked.

“Don’t you already have a beginning?”

“No.”

“Okay how about we start with King Flint’s coronation?”

“The book is about his son.”

“I thought he was lost after The Troll Wars.”

“Not quite.”

“Fine, how would you write it?”

“Well, we could write the first chapter on how this book was made.” The Scribe replied.

That is how this book came to be. It is a collection of stories and memories that will tell what happened to Prince Noah during and after The Troll Wars.

* * *

After they had begun work on the book, there was a knock on the door. Before they could even get up to answer it, a man walked it.

“Bryon?!? What are you doing here?” The Scribe asked incredulously.

“I heard about the book.” Bryon replied.

“How?” Levi asked, already drawing a sword.

“I have many reliable sources... And some unreliable ones too.” Bryon admitted.

“Was this source reliable?” Levi said as he twirled his sword.

Bryon just smiled.

“Calm down Levi.” The Scribe ordered. “Bryon is... an... old friend, for lack of better description.”

Bryon kept on smiling.

“Well now that we are all here, we can resume our work.” Levi said. And so, they did.

Chapter Two

The Prince

Some number of years ago, before The Troll Wars, there was a child named Noah, and he was a prince. Currently he was talking with his father in his bedroom.

“Father,” he said. “Why must we give our gold to Raynel and the bird people?”

“I see you were spying on my meeting with the Ravenari.” His father, King Flint replied.

“Yeeeessss...” Noah admitted.

“Don’t worry!” King Flint laughed. “It is okay to be curious. I won’t hang you. We give them gold so that they do not commence battle with us. Hmmm. Commence battle. What a fun thing to say!”

Flint was a bit eccentric. He liked saying fun things and tinkering with bits of wood and metal.

“Remember son, peace is more valuable than any mineral.”

“If you say so.” Noah said, with a hint of disagreement in his voice. Gold was unbelievably valuable to a seven-year-old.

“I do!” Flint exclaimed. “Back to your studies now.”

“One more question.”

“Ask away but, you might not get one more answer.”

“Can you tell me more about mother please?”

“No except what you already know that she died when you were young. If you knew more, it could threaten the safety of the kingdom. Now, back to your studies.” Was Flint’s firm answer.

* * *

Noah grew up to be a great fighter, a good friend, and a bad cook. More than once, Flint found the kitchen in flames and his son standing there, holding a spoon. Sword-fighting, on the other hand, was Noah’s strength. He was better than anyone, even his teacher.

When Noah was thirteen, a group of radicals called ‘The Green Seekers’ left the kingdom of Rakar to find a green gem to make them more powerful. Gems, in this world, have the power of the elements. A green gem held the power of all nature. The love of power will take you nowhere good.

The Green Seekers went into the Sakli mountains and there they changed. They changed into something not even human anymore. They became trolls. Trolls have beady red eyes, fangs and this one look that makes you think that they aren’t the sharpest arrow in the quiver.

* * *

“Are you sure it was thirteen, Scriby?” Bryon asked.

“It was 16.” Levi declared.

“I remember it if it was my own story.” The Scribe had a far off look in his eyes.

“Also, the story is about Flint, right?” Levi questioned.

“Yes, but not fully. It's mostly about m... I mean Noah. Don’t you hate it when you accidentally almost say the wrong thing?”

“Yep.” Bryon said. “I do that all the time when I’m tired. While we are on the subject of tiredness, can we go home, Scriby? It's late and my wife, Bella will wonder where I am.”

Then the door was hit with a force that made it fly off its hinges and out the window. Faint screams of pain could be heard from below. A woman, with the appearance of a mad bull marched straight up to Bryon and grabbed him by the neck.

“Speak of the devil.” Bryon squeaked.

“WHAT WERE YOU DOING?!?” The woman roared. “ITS AFTER TEN AND YOU WEREN’T HOME FOR DINNER!”

“I... I... I...” Was all Bryon could manage.

“I ASKED YOU A QUESTION!” She screamed. Levi and The Scribe just looked on in fright.

“Can’t breathe...” Bryon was purple now. The woman let go of his neck. “I was writing a book with my friends.”

“I THOUGHT YOU HAD DIED! YOU COULDN’T HAVE TOLD ME THAT YOU WOULD BE OUT LATE?!?” This was her loudest statement yet.

“Sorry.” Bryon said as Bella dragged him out the entrance and as The Scribe and Levi correctly assumed all the way to his house.

“Welp, see you tomorrow.” Levi said.

“Bye.” The Scribe replied.

And they both went home for the night.

Chapter Three

The Story

Bryon is eight feet tall and had arms and legs like tree trunks.

“Oh, clever idea, Scribe. We should totally let Bryon write this chapter.” Levi said sarcastically.

Bryon just smiled.

“Gimme the quill!” Ordered Levi. “Your wife should’ve locked you in your house.”

Bryon grudgingly passed him the quill.

Bryon is a short, dumb, skinny, wimp!!!!! And he’s fat.

“We don’t want to write untrue statements, Levi.” The Scribe said. “You both are suspended from writing until further notice.”

Levi passed him the quill muttering horrible things under his breath.

Bryon was about five foot nine and he ate in the local tavern far too often. He was mysterious, knowing everything about everyone but no one knew anything about him.

“Now that we have all been properly introduced, I will tell the rest of the story.” The Scribe said and no one argued.

* * *

The Troll Wars were long, hard, and violent. Levi was always on the front line, riding a pure black horse named Kernel because his favorite food, in fact, was corn kernels. He refused to eat anything else. When denied his favorite food, he would rush to the nearest store house and eat until he was full. The Trolls were stupid, but there were many of them and they were strong. Their favorite pastime was burning down villages and killing the inhabitants.

Besides the Trolls, there were two other factions in the Troll wars. They were the Rakarians, led by King Flint, and the Ravenari, a lazy but smart race of part human part ravens. They were led by Raynel who was a skilled weaponsmith and combatant. The Ravenari loved gold and only fought when they could earn some, which meant they only fought for Rakar because the Trolls were flat broke.

The fighting took place mostly between the Great River, near the castle and the Raton mountains, at the edge of the kingdom. The battles never-ever-ever-not-for-anything-in-the-whole-wide-world-of-Skwon took place near The Nest. The Nest was a tall rock spire, home of the Ravenari. And, if anything, the Ravenari were territorial. The first –and last- time the Trolls tried to take The Nest, the inhabitants of the kingdom woke up to a shining pile of Troll battle helmets and a small sign with the words ‘Never again.’ next to it. The Nest had thatched roof houses jutting out from it, supported by long wooden pillars that attached diagonally to the rock. At the very highest point of the rock was a flat platform where they could take off.

Although the Ravenari were the best at flying, they weren't the only ones who could. King Flint, through many years of tinkering, created airships. Airships were 5 Sreks long and 60 Sreks long. (A Srek is about 15 feet.) They had three decks. The bottom was for storage and sleeping. It also held the brig. The middle deck had cannons and the top deck was where commands were given, and the airship was controlled. They had turrets on the bottom, with arrow launchers in them, to take out defend the airship when it was on the ground. The airships had large balloons attached to the top deck by chains and sails on either side so that they could be steered effectively. They were driven by a large propeller –powered by steam- connected to the back.

Bolstered by the sight of these powerful machines, residents of the mountain villages would come down and join Rakar in the fighting. They used whatever weapons were available to them. Whether shovels, sharp sticks or even mud bricks, they fought with such an intensity that even such crude implements became deadly weapons.

A truly deadly weapon, however, was in King Flint’s possession. It was a sword, made from the rarest and hardest mineral, Dark Silver. Imbued with the power of fire, the sword shed embers with each stroke and could light flammable materials with the slightest touch. The name of the sword was Noitcurtsed, the meaning of which remains unknown to all but the King. Noitcurtsed was often used in battle but when it wasn’t, it hung in the council meeting room.

Chapter Four

The Meeting

“How do you know that Not-curtsied-a-magiger-sword-awesome-power-of-fire hung in the meeting room?” Bryon asked.

“If I told you, I would have to kill you.” The Scribe chuckled.

“I’ll kill him, Scriby!” Levi yelled. “Lemme get my whip, so it hurts reeeeeeeeel bad!”

Levi ran so quickly into the other room; it was as if he had teleported. He came back with a leather belt that was wider than a large serving spoon and at once thwacked Bryon in the head with it. Bryon slumped to the floor, unconscious.

“Never to wake up again!” Levi said giddily as he raised his whip for another blow.

“AIEEEEEEE!” Bryon apparently was pretending to be unconscious, and he ran from the room faster than Levi.

The Scribe watched all these events play out with a look of pure terror on his face.

“LEEVII!!!!!” He called. “Stop this nonsense or I'll have you hanged.”

Levi was horrified at the idea of stopping but if he didn’t die then he might have another chance to whip Bryon later.

“Okay...” He said haltingly as if still making up his mind.

“Bryon get back in here we need you for the book.” The Scribe yelled out the door which had been replaced since that morning.

“No, we don’t...” Levi muttered.

Bryon walked back in, and they started writing again.

* * *

After losing to the trolls 4 times in a row, the war council held a meeting to come up with new strategies and fresh ideas. The record of this meeting is as follows:

“I propose the creation of an elite group of highly trained soldiers, handpicked by us to gather information on the Trolls by means of spying and use aforementioned information against them.” Said High General Alexander of the Rakar Royal Army.

“Bro, you don’t have to use such weird jargon ‘cause none of us other dudes can understand you.” Said Captain Kiki of the Air Assault Specialists.

“Simply put, he wants to make a squad of crazy good troops to spy on Trolls and use the gathered information against them.” Summarized King Flint.

“Sure.” Alexander mumbled.

“But I wasn’t done speaking! It is sadly a terrible idea because we should make more airships and BLOW THINGS SKY HIGH!!!!” Flint screamed excitedly.

“We can’t make more of your toys because of the Trolls burning every single flammable thing that they set eyes on, your highness.” Alexander stated.

Just then the sun moved enough that it flooded through the window and bathed the room in warm afternoon light. A figure, hidden before in shadow stood. The man wore an eyepatch wore heavy-looking metal armor.

“Wolffe, what say you on the matter?” Kiki asked.

“sssagoodidea.” Wolffe grumbled.

“What?” Kiki asked.

“Sorry, SOMEBODY woke me up in the middle of my afternoon nap, I said that creating a new squad was a clever idea.” Wolffe’s deep voice sounded like someone rubbing two bricks together.

“My son will lead the squad!” Flint eagerly stated.

“Fine.” Alexander said. “Let the King have at least one small thing that he wants.”

The reason Alexander agreed was because the prince would leave the city for weeks at a time. Alexander was Noah’s archery teacher and once, while removing the arrows from the target, he had been shot in the foot by Noah, and he still had a limp. Noah shot him just because it was funny so the two didn’t get along well. The reason Alexander agreed was because the prince would leave the city for weeks at a time.

“We need more people to fight with him.” Suggested Wolffe.

“Not simply good troops, we need soldiers with unique abilities that all use different weapons and can invent new tactics. We need people that will work as a team and respect their leader. We need minds that can out-think the enemy and constantly refresh ideas and strategies.” Kiki said eloquently.

“Did you say that?!?” Flint said in awe. “It was beautiful.”

“Who else could have said it? The wall?” Alexander stated harshly.

“Maybe an angel said it.” Wolffe said with tears in his eyes.

“It was a load of rubbish!” Alexander criticized.

“The most useful and beautiful piece of rubbish I have ever heard.” Flint said with an air of finality.

* * *

“Oi, Scriby did you make up Kiki saying that?” Bryon asked.

“Sounds like something our friend would do.” Levi commented.

“I did not.” The Scribe simply stated.

“Did not what?” Levi asked.

“Make it up.”

“Make what up?”

“Are you trying to antagonize me?”

“Am I?”

“Are you?”

Hi, it’s Bryon here. While these idiots are arguing, Ima write to you the real story.

* * *

“Not simply good troops, we need some thick nun chucks to knock people’s blocks off with. Also, I need a really big knife, a catapult, some cows, and the world’s biggest mud pie.” Kiki said.

“I can dig it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Flint said.

* * *

“BRYON!!” Levi screeched. “Do you want to get hit with thick nun chucks?”

“I don’t think so.” Bryon was now hiding under the table.

“Then why did you write this?” Asked Levi.

“bEcAuSe I aM iNsAnE!!!” Bryon yelled as he ran around the room.

Bryon looked like a chicken that had his head cut off, running around and screaming until he hit his head on a hanging lantern and fell out the window.

“Another good day of writing.” The Scribe said.

“It would be better if we went down there, and Bryon had a concussion!” Levi was positively vibrating with glee.

“mmmmm” Was the Scribe’s simple but meaningful reply.

“Ima go check.” Levi said as he ran out of the room and down the stairs.

“C...O...N...K...U...S...H...I...N!!!” Was what the Scribe heard as he watched Levi run towards Bryon’s limp body through the broken window.

“He’s not dead.” Levi yelled up. “In fact, he is perfectly fine, and he seems to be sane also. Just my luck.”

The Scribe sighed with relief. Everyday where no one died was a good day. With Levi around there were no good days. But it seemed like that might change. Things were looking up.

“Oi hooligan you want die?” Levi was speaking to what appeared to be an Arlopan, a race of peoples who lived far away and weren't very advanced. The Arlopan’s name was Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz but we will call him Greg.

“Whet iss doi?” Greg asked in his broken Rakarian.

“It is mean you go bye bye!” Levi told him.

“Goe hum?”

“Yes go home in the sky!”

“Ohhhh varry guht.”

“Its good?”

“Yeth.”

Levi then promptly walked Greg over to the very edge of the plateau that the castle was on and shoved him off it. Greg fell 13 Sreks to his certain doom. It was another dreadful day.

Chapter 5

The Soldiers

The day after the council meeting, Alexander went down to the town and looked for the soldiers he needed. He turned left off the main road and walked a little longer until he came to the barracks. It was then that he realized the silence. Usually, there would be sound of training, sharpening weapons, and the chatter of the soldiers talking. Now, there was nothing. Alexander walked inside, but it was empty. Of course, nobody knew he was coming but still, someone should be there. He walked to the back door and opened it. As soon as he did, he saw all of the soldiers down by the river. They were close enough to be seen but far enough not to be heard. Alexander found a horse in the stables –connected to the barracks- and rode it down to the river. As one, the soldiers stood up straight and saluted him except for one, and of course this solder had to be Noah.

- A brief explanation from your authors: Prince Noah was a soldier because King Flint believed that you cannot rule people if you are not willing to fight for them. He also was supposed to salute Alexander, but he was... busy. -

“Stand up and salute your general, Noah.”

“I can’t sir or else he’ll get away.”

“You captured an enemy?”

“No sir.”

“Then who will escape?”

Noah slowly stood up and turned around.

“GARY THE AXOLOTL!!!” He said, “We are gonna get him some custom armor from the blacksmith and then he will be... GARY THE AXOLOTL KNIGHT!!! Can we keep him? Pleeeeeeease?”

Alexander was thunderstruck. He couldn’t speak. He fell down as if dead.

“Gary has mind powers!” Noah said to the soldiers, “He can kill people by thinking about it!”

The soldiers started chanting “Gary! Gary! Gary! Gary! GARY! YAAAAAAAAAY!”

Alexander stood up.

“AWWWWWW.” The soldiers said sadly.

“Yeah, Yeah, I’m not dead.” Alexander muttered. “But I need to go home and lie down for a while.”

“WE CAN KEEP HIM!” Noah said gleefully.

“Whatever you want.” Alexander said as he staggered to the horse.

Later that day Noah made good on his word as he and the soldiers went to the blacksmith and got some armor for Gary. The armor was made from Gloorstone, a weak but attractive type of metallic rock. It had orange stripes painted on it which set off Gary’s purple skin.

“’Tis beautiful!” Noah exclaimed with a tear in his eye. The soldiers just stared in awe. Just then, Alexander rode up on the horse.

“Alright hooligans,” he said, “I need 5 of you for a special squad that specializes in wreaking havoc on the Trolls. Noah has proven himself worthy to lead by wreaking havoc on my nerves. This assignment is dangerous, and you might die –which will make me happy- any volunteers before I choose?”

“I will go.” said Desdamona Black one of the (sadly) few female soldiers. She was in her mid-thirties and had blonde hair, brown eyes, and fair skin. She was always ready to bash Trolls because they killed her parents.

“If there are girls then I am totally in.” Quipped a soldier named Fabian who for some reason had no last name. He had painted his gray Harkl armor a dark shade of blue with white accents. He too had blonde hair but, his eyes were green. He was about the same age as Desdamona but he was still single. Probably because he was super cheesy.

“Alright Desa and Fin good job volunteering. Now I just need two more unhappy slugs for torturing.” Alexander said evilly.

“Meh. Methinks it is time for an adventure.” Said a man named Aacheese Argok. (Poor soul.) Aacheese was over 60 years old, but no one could be sure of just how old he was. He had white hair, grey eyes, and was slightly creepy.

“One more and then I am out of here.” Alexander said.

“I’m ready for a fight.” A young man (less than 25) stepped forward. His name was Hunter Letmac. He had red hair, and brown eyes. He had a wispy mustache, and his boots were much too big.

“Finally.” Alexander said as he was turning the horse around. “See ya.” he said as he rode off into the distance.

“The tyrant has begone-ed!” Noah shouted. The soldiers gave a cheer.

“You four meet me in the strategy room in 2 hours.” Noah said to the four volunteers.

“It takes like 10 minutes to get there.” Aacheese said.

“Then we have an hour and ninety minutes to party!” Noah exclaimed.

“Try again numbskull.” Desa said.

“Ohhhhhhh. An hour and fifty minutes.” Noah awnsered correctly.

“Right.” Desa said.

“Okay people,” Noah yelled, “Let's go to the river and get more awesome pets!” The soldiers cheered again. (They were quite good at that.)

By the time they got to the river, fifteen minutes had passed, and it was 3 in the afternoon. Noah had sent one of the soldiers up to the barracks to grab their biggest net. It had taken 5 minutes and now they were trying to catch a small, yellow duck.

“Got him.” The soldier with the net said. “I got dibs, but I’ll sell him for 20 Lojars.”

“Deal.” Hunter said. “I will name him Doug.” The money was exchanged for the animal, and everyone was happy. Except for General Alexander but he was never happy.

This name and meme origin is from a comedy movie from my country. The main character introduces himself to a German who writes down the names of people and he can't say his name 😅

what about a random bird named Mecoco (name/design based on blue poppy) and is just the most annoying thing ever existing. it looks very pretty, mainly blue with hints of pink, but is really just a big jerk. the design is very flexible tho. feel free to change anything if ya want
