Hey guys, I have been wanting to build a computer, and I have $1000 USD to spend it one. I would like to run it with the latest version of Mac's OS, so please, don't put a PC part-picker list here and consider it problem solved. I want to buy all my parts from
http://www.tonymacx86.com/home.php, and I do have Amazon Prime, so I save like 40% on almost everything.

Tonymacx has two recommended builds that are close to my budget. One is the Customac Budget ATX, and the other is the Customac Pro. I like the Customac Pro, but it is about $75 over budget, and it doesn't even include a monitor. The Customac Budget is about $325 below my budget, giving me plenty of room for add ons, but it doesn't have a graphics card, which is important for my needs. Is the built-in one enough?

Is it possible to add a graphics card to the Customac Budget ATX? Is it possible to downgrade the Customac Pro, but still have it be compatible? Thanks!

Really all you need for an Hackintosh is:

A gigabyte motherboard, a Intel cpu, and a nVidia GPU. (Unless you're using like Firepro's from AMD, which cost way more than your whole budget)

I'd recommend getting Windows 8.1 since you are gonna be gaming, and then duel booting OSX. Windows 8.1 is really easy to learn, if you give it a chance. Everyone hates on it because it's different. It's really an amazing OS. Best for gaming and general use to this day.

I dont know why you would want to build a hackintosh, its a lot harder! It would be easier to build a desktop and purchase windows or get linux. Which is the easier route.

That about sums it up

I know, its just that I have been using macs my whole life. The couple times that I have tried to use another OS, it just ended up being a huge pain. I'd rather work harder for a couple hours on it, then having to solve endless problems with switching my OS.

It takes a while to get used to a new OS, if you dont like Windows 8, wait for Windows 10, or pirate windows 7 which is the best windows so far, windows 8 is still good, but it depends on who you talk to. Windows 10 is going to be one of the best versions of windows that is coming out!
You will find that there is better support for windows when it comes to gaming, you still get the same performance when editing, rendering, making videos, there is no difference when compared to a $800 build to a $1200 mac. Windows is simple to use, unless you use windows 8, then I would get classic shell, install it, and you have a very simple windows 7 style desktop experience. Trust me, Windows is one of the best OSs you can get! Trust me, I have used windows all of my life, and I have used some macs, sadly . Once you get used to it, you wont want to go back!

Hmmm... Technically, it's illegal to run OS X on a computer that is not Apple-made as it would violate the terms of use.

I'd suggest looking up videos using key words such as "$1000 hackintosh build 2014" and you may be able to find a good build to use. Also there are many Hackintosh forums you can join where people can help you make a build.

All the mackintosh forums that I have found are really bad. Like. Really bad. They take like a day to answer, and they talk as if their reply went through 4 different languages on google translate.

dog51848iOS is the iPhone's operating system. If you mean you want to run OS X (Mac's OS) on a custom built PC that's called a Hackintosh which needs very specific parts. Someone on here good with that should be able to help.

Yeah. Sorry. My brain is dead right now :3 I fixed the iOS parts.

EDIT: Also I suggest looking up all the parts it suggests on Newegg. You can get cheaper parts on there.

Couldn't you just add like, a graphic card to the cheaper one?

Well, I'm not good at figuring out compatibility, and the Tonymacx forums are poop.
