I'm making up my first build by myself for a friend of mine. He knows that I haven't really made up a build before, but I told him I'd give a stab at it. His budget is 700 dollars. He's looking to be able to play Minecraft at max settings and get decent FPS. He also wants to play other games with decent settings at max FPS. Anyways, here's the parts list.

Kinda want to just make sure there aren't any bottle necks, nothing can be done more efficiently, everything will fit in the case, etc. Thanks everybody for helping in advanced!

Thanks for the help so far guys. I didn't fill out the form because I figured most of those questions were already answered in the OP post, but I guess not so here you go.

What is this computer going to be used for?
Gaming
What is your budget?
$700
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
US
What is included in the budget?
CPU, Memory, Hard Drive, GPU (if needed), PSU, keyboard, monitor (optional), Windows 8 or 8.1, Case, Disk Drive, Wifi (PCI, not USB) and I think that's it
Will you be overclocking?
Nope, at least not right now. If he decides to in the future, I can take care of it.
Will you be reusing any parts?
Nope
What OS do you want?
Windows 7 would be ideal, but windows 8.1 is cheaper. Don't go out of your way to get windows 7.
Any specific case preferences?
Nope
Any other special features that you want in the build?
Not yet...

53, you didn't use a different power supply, and you took out the monitor. This is what I would suggest if he still wanted the monitor for roughly the same budget.

Woops. forgot about the PSU. my bad. And yeah, I figured the monitor issue would be a problem, but hopefully OP could use the one he has now (if he's on a desktop) for a while until he saves up for a nice monitor.

I assume you live near a Microcenter, as the A10-6800k has a microcenter in-house deal.

In a build with a $700, you shouldn't be going with an APU - you can easily afford a discrete GPU with that budget, possibly even an i5 as well.

Hitachi isn't a very reliable brand for HDDs, we usually recommend Seagate Barracudas or Western Digital.

Going nVidia isn't going to be worth your time unless you use CUDA - even then, AMD makes chips that do the same thing as CUDA, just named differently. Plus, they're cheaper. For the same price of your 750 ti, you could go with an r9 270x, which definitely trumps it in all games. It also will have (has?) GameDVR, AMD's version of Shadowplay.

Logisys is a horrible PSU company. Please never use them.

Subtracting peripherals (mouse, keyboard, and monitor), here is a build that will much better suit your needs:

This build may not cover all of your needs, so I highly recommend you fill out the following questions, replacing the words in italics with your response:
What is this computer going to be used for?
List what you will be doing with your computer.
What is your budget?
Include amount and currency.
Where do you live? If in the US, do you have a nearby Microcenter?
Your country lets us know what sites you can order from. If you have a nearby Microcenter they have some great in-store only deals that you can take advantage of.
What is included in the budget?
Things like the tower, the OS, peripherals and monitors.
Will you be overclocking?
Overclocking will require different hardware than a non-overclocking build so we need to know this.
Will you be reusing any parts?
If you are reusing parts list them here.
What OS do you want?
Say which OS you want or say if you already have a copy of one.
Any specific case preferences?
Size, color, etc.
Any other special features that you want in the build?
Stuff like an SSD, large hard drive, RAID, and wifi

Good luck with your and your friend's build!

1. You have an APU (which is a CPU with and integrated GPU) in a build with a discrete GPU. This is a nono.

2. That motherboard is overpriced

3. That HDD has no price and is from Hitachi, which is an unreliable brand.

4. That GPU is overpriced.

5. NEVER EVER buy a Logisys power supply. They will blow up and your computer will be ruined.

6. There is a much better 21.5 inch monitor for cheaper.
