GamerAuthorityTheShadbusherGamerAuthorityI knew that but I was too excited to actually write about it haha (fixed the post btw )
But, isn't the 980 and the 290X at an equal level in performance?
The 290X beats the 980 in some games whilst the 980 beats the 290X in other games.
also, updated the post! I got 32gb (8gbx4) corsair dominator ram!

A stock 980 tends to beat a stock 290X in everything but two games (and in one of those the difference is less than 1 FPS). However, your card is probably factory overclocked/you might plan to overclock, so it'll match up nicely with or even beat a stock 980.
Even with AMD's mantle?? I really thought that mantle would benefit builds with Intel and AMD gpu's a lot. :/
It does help, but only with games that support Mantle, which is very few right now, and probably will never have much support, as directx12 is around the corner. But who knows, Mantle2.0 may be 10x better than directx12 and make everyone move to that.

In case you don't know, this is one of the fastest graphics card on the planet, right before the R9 295X.
The 290x isn't the fastest graphics card on the planet. Nor is the 295x2. By definition, the 295x2 isn't even considered a graphics card.
"The technical definition of a GPU is "a single chip processor with integrated transform, lighting, triangle setup/clipping, and rendering engines that is capable of processing a minimum of 10 million polygons per second."
The 295x2 is a double-chip card. (Basically, I think it's just two 290x's factory xfired together on the same card, but I might be mistaking.)
The fastest technically-defined graphics card on the planet is the GTX 980. Coming in second is the 290x (I guess you were right when you said it was coming in second). Following that is the 970, being followed by the 290, and so on.
However, since you were accounting for the 295x2 in your original thread, the 290x is actually not the second fastest on the planet.
First place would obviously be the 295x2, because it's two amazing GPUs factory-built together. Following that would be the GTX 980, GTX Titan, HD 7990, 780ti, and then the 290x. (Those GPUs aren't listed in order, but that's not the point, lol).
Although I've been a critic to your post so far, I can't say that I'm not jealous. I've got a Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970, which is slightly less powerful than your beautiful card. I actually almost considered getting the same card, but I'm not a fan of AMD temperatures. I like my rig running as cool as possible, to ensure the maximum amount of life. (My 970 runs about 25 degrees when I'm browsing the internet).
All I can say is that I wish Sapphire made Nvidia cards, haha. You're really lucky. That card is beautiful.

I don't think I will ever be able to get one of those .-.

I wish I could buy expensive items that are non-necessities.
But I look at the end of my pay stub every two weeks and see I only have enough to get food to live off of.

Work as hard as you can, impress your bosses, do whatever to make yourself seem like the person to promote. Next thing you know, you can afford 20 of them.
And @OP that is the hottest thing I have seen in a while.

My god that is sexy. I love that back plate. Got a 280x Vapor-X (Two fans) and it just looks so sexy.
I'd love to see this in your case.
