X/Y is for 3DS, do you have a Emulator for 3DS games? because apparently a new emulator for these is required, so there may be one out there, somewhere...

No. For one, even though the 3ds came out during 2011, its TERRIBLY difficult to code an emulator. You're essentially replicating the entire 3ds software and OS environment and trying to paste it on another device. You'd have to look at the 3ds source code, which is pretty much impossible without modifying your 3ds. Even if there was one, it would probably take up too much CPU power to enjoy playing. Don't tell me how good ur comp is; simulating an entire foreign OS takes up a shit load of processing power(and besides, games nowadays focus more on graphics than anything else nowadays).
So, sorry, but no. Your best bet is to buy a 2ds, which cost $100 cheaper(sgd btw) then just play there.

Wrong. There is 3DS emulators allready. It is not that hard as you describe it. You don't need the source code either. It is called a "Emulator" for a reason
And no, look at the tech stats of a 3DS. A 8GB RAM PC could run it easely.

Yes, the "virtual console" channels on the wii as a matter of fact are realy just a bunch of emulators.

It just matters if you legally own the game or not.

So, if I used an emulator to play Super Mario 64 even though I already have it, is it legal?

If you don't own the game, it's illegal. Though I doubt someone will find you.
My tip: Wait for a game to get old, and buy a used version of the game for a cheaper price.
