Minecraft achievements. What kind of achievements do you want to have in the game? I think this should be an achievement: 
for crafting a golden apple.

... There is one for lighting a nether portal. At least, once you enter it...
Nether King: Craft and defeat the Wither
Fashion Forward: Dye an entire set of leather armor
True Civilian: Make a trade with a villager
Just Like Grandma: Make a cake, pumpkin pie, and cookies
Come and Take It: Create a TNT Cannon

I do think the game needs more Achievements, but not of the sort that you had in Mind.
