Well ever since I was 10 I have been noticing a lot more girls/women then before.
In my school there is only one male teacher and one male substitute. Yeah, in cartoons there is a male principal in reality it's women. I'm not going against women or anything. My theory is that guys get killed more often (suicide,fight,etc) then women. Post your theory on how come there is more women.

The amount of sexism and stereotypes in this thread boggles my mind.

That being said, the ratio between males and females is tiny, and means that the global sex ratio is not responsible for sex discrepancies in professions. For that, you have to look at traditional gender roles. There are many professions that society considers women to be more 'suited' for, such as early education teachers (not professors, though), nurses, secretaries, etc.

Especially in past decades, women were pressured into entering into one of these 'female-friendly' careers despite what their personal interests might be. This is lessening today, but sexism still exists in many fields with more masculine 'images'. I know first hand, perusing a career in archaeology. I think there is more women teachers in your school is because there are just more women teachers in general. Women are smart like that. ( I am a male, by the way. ) Women wont take a 'cool job', or a 'sporting job', they will take a job which pays decently, and will most likely help alot of people. Also, women are great around kids, and alot of men wouldnt like kids running around them all day.

Here's my theory:
If you were 10, you would have been in elementary school. The reason there's more female teachers in younger grades is because (generally - not being sexist) they're more kind and sweet to the kids, and they're overall better teachers for younger children. However, as you enter middle school and high school, there's more male teachers. That's my theory at least.

Dude.. When you grow older and hit puberty as you have, You begin to notice more girls than usual. It's just a thing, Think about it, When your little girls have koodies and there all just gross or w.e but as you get older into teen years like 15-16 you can't not notice a girl.
