I personally prefer Java, but Bedrock is alright. Minus all the micro transactions.

Bedrock Edition is fine, anyone complaining about "performance issues" obviously has high graphics on or has a terrible PC/tablet. My 4GB RAM Amazon Kindle can run Bedrock perfectly fine with no lag! I haven't played Java enough to see if it's good because I just got it, so I'll edit this later.
All but those excruciatingly long loading times (try saying that 5 times fast) and boring modless resource-packless stuff is cool
Bedrock is absolute garbage, you have to buy the game, and then you have to pay tons more money to be able to play worth a damn, plus the controls are awful! When compared to Java, the camera movement and everything on Bedrock is like Java Edition... If Java Edition was drunk.

Bedrock edition is in fact so good that they made a reference to it in every Java edition world, if you dig REALLY down below, you'll discover a block called "Bedrock" and you'll find out it's unbreakable, just like Minecraft Bedrock Edi-

It's good as a whole, great even due to the fact it is so cross platform. Java will always be better imo just because of mods and extras you can only do on it.
