More than likely yes, there was a "Minecon" last year that had a little over 80 people show up and this year was HUGE. 5000+ people showed up and I am sure next year will be even bigger. I am hoping for g4tv coverage by next year.

Its the creeper Cloak and yes, I would love to have one. I doubt they will do it again next year if they do Minecon. And yes, go back to the first page and read about Minecraft to find out what they have planed now that its out of beta. I can't help you on hosting a server, I have no idea how to do that.

Notch announced that those attending MineCon 2011 will receive a MineCon 2011 Cloak.

This glowing companion also comes with a diamond block. If you're attending Minecon, feel free to swing by J!NX's booth and grab a glowie creeper of your very own! There's only 500 of the little guys though, so if you're there, be sure to grab yours quickly.

*Developers play a short demo of Scrolls.
Scrolls is a turn-based card game that will be based on multiplayer game play. The demo did not really release much information, although the Q&A session did release a few bits of information. The community will be allowed to trade scrolls back and forth on the auction block and use in game currency that is earned while winning matches to buy new booster packs and scrolls. There will be a rarity system, like most card games, that determines which scrolls are the more powerful ones.
Although we have seen a demo for Scrolls, I wouldn't bet on it being the same game it is now on the final release. The developers have the "basic system" into place, but a large portion of the game is still being fleshed out, with player input being a huge part of the games future development. The one thing you can be sure of is that the game will be multi-platform, the developers have stated they would like to see it on the iPad and a possibly one of the 3 main consoles.

Microsoft joins Mojang at MineCon as the main sponsor for the convention. Microsoft will participate in the preview of the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft and will also be showing off some cool stuff in the exhibition area of the event. So stay tuned for Microsoft announcements!

Minecraft 1.0.0 was released at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas live today! There is no download link for Minecraft 1.0.0 and will not be like the pre-release versions. To get Minecraft 1.0.0 just simply open up the Minecraft client and the download should happen automatically after you login!
Jeb stated that there is no current content being worked on for a up and coming update for Minecraft now that it is out of beta, although he did state that there would be a new A.I. developer joining Mojang this December to work on the current A.I. character in NPC villages. Jeb has stated that it is a possibility that the A.I. will give out small quest and reward with resources and experience, he also noted that he would like to allow the player to trade with the NPC villager. Another thing Jeb state he would like to do is expand food items and farming in the future and attempt to make more uses for the Blaze Rod that can be found in the Nether.

Pocket Edition
iOS Version Released
Mojang has finally released a version of the Pocket Edition app that runs on iOS for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad users on iOS versions 4.3 or later. The app will cost $6.99 and according to Jeb will allow users to connect and play together regardless of which platform they are on.
