Requesting Age

Ok. I have a question for all you who do Lets Plays and Manichinimas ect ect.
Why on earth do you need to request a players age? It has absolutely NO value or purpose. PLUS it's against the rules that nobody but the mods and a handful of users ever read.
It's against to rules to request and give out your age. Yet you all do it everyday without thinking twice.
Regardless of it's importance or not, it's against the rules and there truly is no reason to ask for it. So please, I would love to hear why you enjoy requesting the ages of other members.
And please don't give me "I need to know if they're mature or not" because age does not define maturity.

Actually In the rules, according to PMC rule #18 it does not state that a user can or cannot give out their age. However it does state that one may not give out personal information. Please reread the rule below:
18. PERSONAL INFORMATION RECOMMENDATION
For your safety, we recommend to all members that you should never post personally identifiable information such as your full name or address online. Full names and addresses will be removed. You may request or post your first name, age and Skype information, however it is recommended to keep this to PM for your own safety.
As you see, It clearly states what you are having a problem with is allowed on this website.

I am the youngest kid on staff for a bug server and I am just as mature as the rest of staff. And all of them are older than me by 4-6 years.

because everyone wants an awesome voice actor and not some barry white-boy is not really an excuse. everyone deserves an opportunity to prove themselves.
how about this, instead of just making an application and taking whoever responds first, do some test runs with a few possible candidates, find out who you work best with. (remember, because they are an awesome builder by themselves does NOT mean they work well with others. and lets plays tend to really suck if its a bunch of people standing around waiting for some guy to finish "teh most EP!C BUILD OF DA CENTUREEZ!")
talking like that makes you seem mentally deficient and not worth communicating with.
second, have a plan, and follow through. communication is key. when a member of a team is not communicative, they wont offer advice, or make witty statements to aid in viewer interests.
third, if your going to invest the time, and others time, make a time of the week to get together, and be sure you have your entire team present for the filming. nothing sucks worse than coming on and everything being moved around and not knowing what is going on.
and finally, the fourth...if your going through all the trouble to set it up, BE SURE YOU CAN CONTINUE PRODUCTION OVER A DECENT LENGTH OF TIME. because your video does not receive a million hits the fist day does not mean you should stop. be persistent and reliable and people will come.

*Stereotype* Some look at the older players and try answering that again. If you looked closer most griefers,trolls and spammers are in the older audience.

I know that there are some "Mature" younger players in the community, but you have to face it, the majority of younger players are people who are immature.

Also, I am mature. I prefer to use correct grammar, proper spelling, and not to write anything without checking it. "But Why?" you may ask. The reason is is that when you write like this: hiiii i lik to b in ur mincraft vid, is a whole lot less appealing than: Hello, I would like to join you and make a a Minecraft Video.

Smart man, smart man. I too agree that age does not define maturing, because I know people older than me and they themselves act like they're 4 years old. I think I will think twice before giving out my age. Thanks!
