The computer I'm currently using is close to hitting the graveyard with a failing hard drive and I haven't had it for more than a year.
(I currently can't run it for an hour without it shutting down on me)
So I was talking to a few friends about it and they said I should just build my own rig instead.
Problem being, I can't do that.
So I was just thinking of buying another computer, like I usually do.
But I want your opinions.
Is is better to build a PC or just buy one?
Are they usually more dependable and reliable?

Hi! The thing is that a ''self-built'' computer is much much much better (in most cases) and much cheaper BUT alot of people don have the experience of building one so you should check out a site where YOU choose components and the company will build it for you. I did that on a swedish site i payed 800 pounds and i can run BF3 on highest graphics so yes its much better building your own ;D
Hope this helped!

Ah, so it seems that building your own is defiantly better.
Luckily I have a few friends who are really into computers, much more than I am who could probably help me build it.
When I come across some money, I think I'll defiantly buy the parts and have a friend build it.
Thanks for your input guys. <3

You should just ask them to help you. Building a PC is a great experience that everyone should be exposed to. You should do stuff to help, too. Building it is the most fun you'll have with a computer! But just remember: STATIC PROTECTION!!!

I am well convinced that TigerDirect has the best prices. By all means build your own. I did it last winter. Easy as Legos.

Everyone's correct.
Building one is better, it's
more satisfying once you get
everything up and running
Try TigerDirect if you're in
North America, it's got
quite a selection of
"Barebones" kits (which
are all the parts you need
to build your own system)

You could also buy the components and pay someone to build it for you, it would still work out much cheaper.

Pick a processor, find a motherboard that supports it, then build the rest of your system around what is compatible.

There isn't much to building one. Basically just buy the components you want from somewhere like newegg.com and put them together in the case. As for pricing, building your own is generally way cheaper if you want an above average computer.
