1
Delete your server.dat, there is no way to change it, as it is encrypted.
1
but one more thing... what do i need to open it with?
1
oh wait i just found out how to change what i open it with
1
so why does it open up when i try to open server.dat?
1

1
ok then do i delete the server.dat.txt and replace it with server.dat?
1
No it has to be .dat no .txt
I don't even know if it will work but it's worth a try.

1
ok so I just created server.dat.txt on .minecraft in no folders and I tried starting up minecraft and crashing it manualy by extending the window and then i looked at my server.dat.txt and nothing was there
1
It should just be in /.minecraft/
This is a long shot but try creating one.
Create a txt file and name it servers.dat. Then launch minecraft and see what happens.
Or just download mine and put it in there: http://edudek.org/jareds/jareds_etc/servers.dat

Well try deleting the servers.dat.
It's in C:\Users\<your user here>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft
You will loose all your servers so be sure to take a screen shot so you can get them all back.
