I can't get Classic to work!
Every time I try to play Minecraft Classic, it won't let me. The Java loading thing shows up, then it says my security settings are blocking it. How do I unblock it?

You need Java 6 online.
And please don't turn down security levels for Java online, it's a bad thing to do.
Using Java 6 online is not recommended because it has a lot of security vulnerabilities. I would recommend trying a classic version on the minecraft version changer in the launcher.
I have tried using Java 7/8, it isn't blocked for me, but I get errors while Java 6 does not.

Nothing seems to work. I set the security level for trusted sites to low, then added https://minecraft.net/ to trusted sites. It still blocks it.
Yea, had the same problem. It is due to security levels for internet. Try white-listing minecraft.net to security of Java.
Yea, in Java 1.8.0 64bit (possibly 32), I can't seem to white list minecraft.net. You are going to have to switch it to medium. Make sure you be careful until you switch it back to high. Though, it will do a security prompt, if the site seems unsafe.

Chrome seems to block the applet for me because its digital certificate has expired. There's probably a way to enable the applet through your browser settings, but I'm not a browser diagnostics person, sorry.

i thought classic was dead
It is dead but you can still use it which makes it sort of that its in a coma, maybe?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
How did you even get Classic?
I went to Minecraft.net and played it.
New launcher, You have to enable 'use older versions' though
