If there are any tabs in the file it screws the whole thing up, .yml does not support tabe. And I would also recommend just using commands to add groups/edit permissions, it's way easier if you know how to do it right. Search groupmanager commands in google to find a list of all the commands.
i have an easy selution to this i have also got that error while i was editing.
Follow these simple steps to fix it!
-reset your groups.yml fyles but keep a copy.
-go ingame of server
-type/mangadd [NameOfNewRank] to create a rank
-Type/Mangaddv [Group] Prefix &4[&3Group&4] &r to make a prefix Example [Member]Joe>Hello Everyoen!
-type/Mangaddp [group] [permissionnode] To add a simple permission
Follow these simple things and add everything ingame and there will be no further problems!
