Hi
Hope someone can help..
I've made a map in Worldpainter, but need to lower the sea level by about 15-20 blocks, as there's going to be some structures beneath sea level. At the moment, sea level is only a couple of blocks below ground level..
I don't want to make a new map if at all possible, as I have already built a lot on it..
I'm sure I've seen something about it can be done using Worldpainter or MCEdit, but I don't remember where I saw it.
Any help would be much appreciated

Use the sponge tool and soak up the sea, then use the fill to on the next layer down on the slope into the ocean...
Thanks, Xander the Great, I'll have a go..
I'm sure I've come across a very easy fix which involves just lowering the sea level level (e.g from 62 to 50), save it and off you go. But I can't find it and I don't remember if it was in Worldpainter or MCEdit. Is that something you've seen anywhere?

well open the world in mcedit move it up and replace the area under it with water or stone or whatever you want
Thanks, Nick, seems like a sensible thing to do.. I'll have a go, but the map is relatively big, 384x1152 blocks.. is it still a viable option?

Look into the world gen files, preferably the biome ocean file
Thanks, Scholesy, but where are they and what do I do with them??
I've had a quick look in the .mincraft app data folders, but cannot locate them..

Scholesy didn't read the OP properly and thought you were making a mod, but you're not, you're using worldpainter ;P Anyways, you could try using WorldEdit in-game to do what you need to achieve and then load in back into WorldPainter
Bump!
Isn't there anyone who know how to do this??
