Here's my template, for 1.15+
"type" specifies that i'm editing an armor model
"items" is the matching item, in this case, diamond boots
"texture" is the texture i'll apply
"nbt.display.Name" is the condition i use to apply the texture, in this case, the name
"iregex" means i want anything that contains a text, not case-sensitive, in this case either "1" or ( | ) anything containing the world "fran" ( .* ) like franmeal or france
type=armor
items=diamond_boots
texture=./diamond_layer_1
nbt.display.Name=iregex:1|.*Fran.*
