MINECRAFT RAM HELP!
Ok so I'm trying to put more ram into Minecraft for better FPS.
The ram I have on my computer is 8GB.
I was watching a tutorial on YouTube and he told me to type this into Notepad:
Javaw -Xmx4096m -Xms4096m -jar "C:\Users\Alistairr\Desktop\Minecraft.exe"
The 4096 is how much ram I want onto Minecraft, 4096 is 4GB.
Then he told me to save it as ''start.bat'' to my destop, then to click run and Minecraft should open with way more FPS, but it doesn't open for me, it says:
''Javaw'' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
C:\windows\system32
What do I do? Really confused
(I'm running Windows 8)

I've gotta head to bed with work in the morning, but if you could PM me your list of used mods (if any), and the location of your .bat file, Minecraft.exe, and minecraft.jar files, I should be able to help you in a couple hours. Sorry neither of my solutions worked out.
Try
java -Xmx4096m -Xms4096m -jar "MinecraftSP.jar".
This one will only work if run from the .minecraft directory.
Edit: I use this every time I open MC, and it runs fine.

Still the same message.
Well, fudgesicles.

Remove the "w" from the end of Java. And it will only work if you have a shortcut to MC on your desktop already. Otherwise, use this:
Java -Xmx4096m -Xms4096m -jar "Minecraft.exe"
in your Minecraft folder, and just create a shortcut to the .bat on your desktop. If you need more in depth advice, let me know.

I'm still getting that message
