Timed out on EVERY server
Hey guys,
whenever I join a server, I log in, and then after 5 seconds in-game, I time out. I hve perfect connection to the servers, and I've reinstalled my Minecraft and checked my firewall. It is INCREDIBLY annoying

Are you using Virgin Media by any chance? They have a lot of problems with Minecraft.

I'm assuming you get the "read timed out" java error?
This probably means you have an issue receiving the required packages to the server or you have issues sending them.
How can you test this?
Open cmd and type:
ping serveradress (example: ping survival.thunderbite.net)
an ip works aswell. Doesn't really matter
Also ping to http://www.google.com to see the diffrence.
After you did this you want to look at the (response) Time (example: Time=37 ms)
Anything below 150 is acceptable. Also take a look at your Package loss under
Ping Statics
Example: Packets: send = 4, received = 4, loss = 0
Let me explain how this works:
See it as a mail system.
You send a "package" to the person you want it to receive. In this case it being a server rather than a person. And the time would be how long the package is on its way to the server. Same as in real life, when the roads(=connection) are bad. You can "lose" a package. This means the package will never reach its destiny. If your connection is in a bad state, it can loose packages.
Minecraft is very harsh for package loss. This means that if it loses a package every now and then. It will not have all the required data. And you will be kicked. This is probably your issue.
Feel free to send the results to me if you want, add me on skype: bv_joske_belg
Or just reply to this.
I hope this helped.

Tried to join another server? ( a popular one)
If you keep timing out you also might want to check your firewall,
(check here if the port is open http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm)
The big bad boys like Norton and McAfee can block your connection to.
Add an exception for Minecraft and port 25565 in your Antivirus.
Both protocols need to be open on that port: TCP and UDP,
Java updated?
Also try forceupdating your client.
Did you increase the Ram of your client? Might want to change that back too.
Goodluck!
