Hi everyone!
Iv'e been doing this project for quite some time now regarding Graphics and it relation to gaming. At one point I talk about not confusing the quality of graphics with the art style of the graphics. To strengthen this statement i want to talk about how a game like Minecraft that has an art style that looks like it doesn't take much power can still make your computer lag with high settings. What i want to know is how much processing power Minecraft takes with relatively high settings turned on.

Thank you,
Ryan

it actually depends a lot on the version of the game. alpha/beta runs extremely fast on modern hardware on highest settings (over 2000fps depending on the system) while 1.8.8 runs around 500-600fps

Some things rely on the graphics card in order to be smooth and speedy, for example.. setting the graphics to fancy and enabling shaders. while some settings rely on the CPU, for another example Render distance and general chunk loading.. and having a texture pack on can affect the performance too...

so it really depends
