Is Gold Really That Weak?
When you're in Minecraft, gold tools suck (same with armor), but think about the GOD apples. They are made of gold too. Makes you think doesn't it? Is gold really that bad?

first number: harvest level: 0 wood 1: stone 2: iron 3: gold (basically what blocks can break)
second number is the uses third number with the F is the speed fourth number is the damage in half hearts(here 0 meaning half a heart) it does and the fifth number is the enchantability
the hight the number the better enchants it gets and the more powerfull enchants are
I don't know what that means but diamond does more damage than gold. Gold has more enchantibility, I know, and shovels break stuff faster, but diamond is stonger than gold, meaning PvP strong.

Yes, gold is truly that bad. A god apple is an enchanted golden apple but it is nevertheless another material is with it. I bet the apple is stronger than the gold lol.

Minecraft : Gold has the highest efficiency and enchantability, meaning its the fastest and the easiest to max enchant. In my personal opinion, its used mainly for decoration and for making hoes lol.
IRL : Pure gold is extremly weak and undurable , rendering it useless unless u mix it with other alloys or ores. Again making it mainly used for decoration , wiring or BLING-BLING!

It's incredibly powerful if you enchant a book with unbreaking and apply it to weapons or armor, considering it's amazing enchantability rating. You need high-tier gear to do such, however.
I think that gold is powerful, its main use isnt armor or tools, I thinks golds main use is for more unusual things like clocks and golden apples. BTW there is probably at least 1 person that will reply to the thread and say "IT'S BUDDER,NOT GOLD"!!!!

I always put unbreaking 3 on my gold tools in the anvil
I agree this is always best thing to do and remember just repair after a quick kill in pvp you can always bring another gold sword anyway although I would say no to the armour.
The only good thing you can do with it are the golden apples. The items get destroyed after 33 uses and the armor and the sword aren't more durable.
And, no max enchant it with like durability etc...

Depends if it's pure gold or not. 100% gold-gold is MEH. Gold with other stuff in it would be stronger, that's when you get 'red gold' 'pink gold' 'green gold', etc.

Well if you max enchant your gold sword, since it hits a lot faster, you would have a weapon of mass destruction.
Which would break after about 5 kills.
I can't craft anything useful out of it other than a clock.
