I was in single player, trying to summon Herobrine, when I saw a bunch of random white wool. I think Herobrine sent me a gift.

Was it placed or was it in item form? If it was in item form then here's what actually happened: Jerry the Sheep was walking along when he saw some player trying to summon Herobrine. "What a noob" he thought. "Everybody knows Herobrine doesn't exist,". When behind him a wolf crept up. Due to the fact that wolves in Minecraft are programmed to hunt and kill sheep, he sunk his fangs into the sheep and killed it. The wolf saw the approaching player and fleed. "Hey!" he thought to himself. "Herobrine sent me a gift! I should post this on PMC!". And that's what happened.
