Largest amount of time on one world?
The longest time I have played a world was a week (not good?).
I got to the End and killed the Enderdragon.That was fun. Full set of diamond armor, non enchanted, Had a little nether base going.

Well, all time I think that would be around a week and a half.
One session though would be around 5 hours
Multiplayer one session, 2 hours. Annihilation on Shotbow Network.

In one session? i would have to say 17 hours. When i was building my Herobrine's screamin diamond coaster. that thing took forever.
about 7 days in total then my nether system messed up and i installed mods which messed it up so
About 5 minutes. I HATE SinglePlayer, because you build amazing things that no-one else can see. Multiplayer? about 5hours.

Reread the question. Thought you meant in one allotment of time. I'd say like 6 months xD
10 minutes for PC. I've had my PSVita world for a few months. I just wish I could also play it on the PC. I've never defeated the ender dragon, or even gotten to the end on SP... I've played quite a bit of Tekkit though. Probably a week (9-10 hours a day xD). I've had MC since beta 1.7.3 btw.

For single player I usually don't play a world for long, a couple weeks, maybe a month. For Multiplayer however I spend about eight months on Medieval Lords of Minecraft before it really faded out for me.
