Hi! In my server message, I would like it to say 'Welcome back, [Playername]!' and I am unaware as to how to do this. Under the server's title in multiplayer, not in-game.
I have seen other servers with this but I don't know how to do such a thing.
It suggested I use %n but that had not helped. Now it just says 'Welcome back,%n!'
I would appreciate some help Thanks in adavance!

It's called the Server list MOTD. If you are running a Bungee network there are more options I believe. Essentials CANNOT do this.

I'm unaware of what to call it I had explained it best I could. In your server list in multiplayer, under what you name said server.

Sorry if I didn't explain what I had needed to. I was unaware that it was called a MOTD. I thought that THAT was what essentials displays when you log in.

Try using the tag %player%. It works for me in Command Blocks.

Oh and the server message is currently:
\u00A7aWelcome back, \u00A7e{DISPLAYNAME}\u00A7a\!
\u00A7* being the color.

Hm.. Nope. Just says {DISPLAYNAME} in place of %n now. Would you like the IP to look at it? It's whitelisted but you'd only need to see it on the list.

Do u have the plugin Essentials?

I think it depends on what host you have. Alot of hosts have that option, although I'm pretty sure there is a plugin on bukkit you can get for that.
