I love making small farm houses with a small storage area where I store all wheat, I usually have a small wheat farm and some melon farms around my farm house, that I like to work with, I do store my ores and stuff in the storage area and I have a pigs that I breed, I often live in forest biomes, because I love the green grass.

I want to build a massive wood mansion but i never have time to build anything cause i will be blown up by a creeper before i put down a crafting bench

Umm... For me I like my houses near a river with a desert or jungle across the river(most likely a desert though) and a forest behind the house so I don't get lost and so I know where to go for a swamp(mushrooms) though not many caves in forests.
Plus rivers are good for water sources( less EnderMan.)

Hint: follow the sheep and then find the desert and cross it to the river then theres cows and good building spots.

Well it depends on what environment you put me in...
I'll build giant glass domes underwater, houses shaped like castles in the mountains, and usually just build a simple wooden hut anywhere else. (Though I DO have more designs....)

Anywere i can and with 1 layer of wood then 2 layers of glass pain's looks quite nuce if i say so myself

I really like building close to the ocean, so I can explore with my boat. I enjoy building modern homes with lots of glass. The sides of mountains are fun and a challenge too, but if you find a spectacular view, then it's definitely worthwhile.
