Forge and Optifine
Can I use forge and optifine at the same time? I try to open minecraft on forge with optifine in the mods folder and it just crashed almost immediately. Am I doing something wrong here? And if I were to get pixelmon would I be able to use that and forge or that and optifine, or all three at the same time? And are my mods supposed to be .jar?

Optifine is working fine now, but when I try to download the Pokemon mod minecraft doesn't fully load up. It says that the mods are all downloading and stuff but then it freezes and stops working.

does it stop loading half way through? if so add more ram

i dont even use the default launcher, also ive never had to change any flags for optifine,
but generally if you say your game/server has crashed having a crashlog in a spoiler or something helps a lot in most cases

I'm not sure what versions you're using, but I used to have this problem too. What i did was, in the launcher, i hit 'edit profile,' checked 'JVM Arguments,' and pasted in:
-Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true

a crashlog would help a lot, just saying

I've started forge without minecraft at least once, I'm not sure what version of optifine I have but I will check. And I have the pixelmon mod and forge as the same version but it still isn't working.
You need to use the same version of minecraft for them all. Instead of starting the optifine.jar just put it in the mods folder. Make sure you've started forge atleast 1 time w/o mods.
