Optifine being REALLY choppy
Hey guys, I'm trying to get optifine to work with me. I am on a Mac, and I am playing MC 1.6.4 (So I can play pixelmon ). When I install optifine using forge (The 1.6.4 version ofc) I can load a world, but if I move my mouse to fast, the whole game freezes up for a second or two. This gets really bad when I have my render distance above tiny. It gets in the way of me playing a pixelmon server, because chat is SOOO choppy. Please help, and if you're going to say "You should get a windows computer, they're better" I know, but that doesn't solve my problem.

If you use Optfine, your missing out on the true FPS experience.
Optfine DRAMATICALLY decreases your performance....
Never use it! and since 1.5.2, its not even needed!
As long as your have FML you can support HD textures and other stuff without it.

Optifine seems to hate Macs, in my experience. Try having someone install it on a PC and then send you the files.
That's a bad idea. Though why do you need optifine anyways OP?
How exactly is it a bad idea?
It wouldn't function, forge has a different MAC version, Minecraft has a little changed code for Mac.
I have no idea what would be causing this problem, i suggest lowering the settings using optifine, as it comes with "higher" settings than normal when you download it.
If there is another graphical mod like shaders that you are using, it will not work together and most likely crash.

It only has a different Mac version because it installs to a different location. The files are all the same - I've sent copies of it installed to people on Macs, and it runs fine.
Its not your optifine or your forge/ mods. It is most likely your computer, sadly. Saving up money for a new computer or graphics card would be ideal! Hope I helped!
But do any of you have any idea why it would freeze like it does?
Optifine actually lowers fps when run with forge, they sort of fight for optimization

A windows computer is not always better, because you can get a crappy one, lol.
For the optifine problem, I think it could be a driver issue? Or settings issue? I've never had a problem with optifine, so I honestly have no idea. Could it be the mod messing with it?
