I've started a server to play around on to test out 1.8. It's running bukkit right now.

I wouldn't suggest to play a MC server on your computer.. It really isn't professional and makes hacking your computer and info piece of cake considering the port forward connects you DIRECTLY to them making sending malicious software over easy.
If i was you i would consider going to a server hoster or just joining a large server such as mine.
