Why should we pick you? Because you can rest assured that I am in it for the game - I've been playing minecraft since Beta and have decided to rest and "retire" into a staff position. I care about minecraft and its players and want to help create something great for people to enjoy.

Don't worry, it's unlikely that this will ruin your chance of being accepted: I have been banned from a couple of servers due to using a hacked client - but this was years ago. On the other hand, I was recently banned for advertising on a server ( It wasn't in chat - it was telling a friend my IP through a message.)
