If you want to go that route Max, then its your choice. Just remember, you wont have access to the console. Not as secure as you want it. But i'm not gonna tell you what to pick. Just note, I only do work for Hamachi or cracked servers. I'm not gonna touch an online mode server or a rented server.

By the way Max, you should really add an "age" parameter in your application format. I don't think you want young children attempting to run your server. Just saying from experience.

That's where experience comes into play. You can only define a server by players true, but its limited by what your server is capable of. Example: If people want a territory like server, you have to use some sort of land marking plugin. If you want a territory server that can/can't be grieved, then you need an intricate permissions folder, allowing users to have certain permissions for lengths of time, rank or the such. A vanilla server does not have the ability to describe it's self. With out the proper protocols and setups, its nothing more than canvas. I understand where your coming from seeing that you believe a server is described by people. However, your theory has many flaws. Most, if not all, of the servers I have played on, got to their rank because of the setups they had. I don't feel the need to explain myself any longer. Leave it at without plugins or some sort of mod, the server wont live long.

Recommending plugins is only have of the battle though. Plugins need to be customized and hand selected to fit your server goals and needs. I actually have a custom permissions file set up for the server i used to run. It is complete with multiple plugins. It can be used as a basis for your permissions folder deeming that you use a compatible permissions plugin. Its better to learn how to do it than have someone do it for you, so if there is a problem, you will know how to fix it instead of relying on someone else all of the time. That is my aim when i help people set up servers. Ill do it with you, not for you.

will the server be hackable - -_- you cant hack a server if you put in the correct plugins. You need an ip locking plugin like xauth.

How can you not port forward...

1. open cmd
2. type ipconfig
3. open your default gateway (router/modem)
4. look for your your port forward setting.
5. enter the ipv4 address from ipconfig and set all port numbers to 25565.
6. save and exit
7. enter your server properties.
8. enter the ipv4 address, the same one you entered into your gateway, into the ip section.
9. set the server to onlinemode=false
10. save and exit
11. go to google and then look up whats my ip.
12. give that ip to your friends.
13. enter the ipv4 as your ip when you connect.
14. if this doesnt explain it, you shouldnt be running a server until you learn basic terms.
